Congrats to you GC folks

on the win over Burton last night. I wanted to post on here instead of the regular forum because there were a few things I wanted to say and didnt want to create any negativity.

Anyway, first thing first, you guys are just too damn big lol. Norton speed is is less of an advantage than gc size. I liked the gameplan, full house backfield, power run game, parks is easily the best back burton had seen all season. The GC o line and d line destroyed burton all night long, theres really not any other way to put it. Its hard for playmakers to make plays when the defense is in the backfield before they even get the handoff.

Now comes a little bit of venting, Burton has really regressed since the powell valley game. Im not talking about losing against GC, I kinda figured that would happen, but just things Ive noticed against some of the more pathetic teams like rye cove is that Burton has done a piss poor job of blocking, has made little to no adjustments, isnt tackling worth a damn, and the one that scares me the most, playing with no swagger or pep in their step. I looked at the way Burton was moving around in pregame, very lethargic, no bounce whatsoever. It seems like they have really hit the wall going into the home stretch. A week off will be good for them but its pretty evident they arent going very far. If they are fortunate enough to get by appy, rural retreat should beat them easily, thats the way I see it.

Like I said, Im not getting down on them for last night, they lost to a team a lot bigger, a lot better to be honest. But at the same time, they didnt play very well at all and havent played very well at all in a month or better.

So Ive never seen an illegal block below the waist/chop block called on the defense, those refs were comical. The interception that GC was initially rewarded after the ball bounced off the ground was enough to wanna temporarily shoot yourself. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

A couple more random thoughts, PV is a better team than Burton too, Robbins tried to be cute running the spread formation, all he had to do is play power football and burton would have folded. That was the last time Burton played good football, but I have to give credit to PV for helping Burton out on that one.

And last, and this will probably be the on going joke if I tell you guys, but I might as well, just dont make much light of it because Im sure the kid doesnt deserve to get made fun of. But after Lee Robinson from Burton was knocked out of the game with a concussion, he couldnt feel his face, trainers and coaches asked him a series of questions. One question was, who is the president? His response, Michael Dukakis LOL. I shared that with you guys but dont let that one get out on the big board, it was funny but considering he had to go to the hospital, it wasnt that funny.

p.s. I noticed how many people were cheering for GC that would have never cheered for them. Plenty of folks from pound, clintwood, and the band geek from pv. Glad to see the haters come out in full force. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I think the clip block or chop block. Was on the interior line. Burton's defense is coached to dive gap and to take the offensive player with him. It piles up the hole.
But you have to watch about doing it. Because you can come into the knees of the offensive players, biggest thing is doing it outside the 10 yd line, it is rather obvious. It's more of a goal line type defensive strategy or a strategy if your getting beat on the line. But you have to watch about catching the offensive linemen at the knees.
I hope the kid who got the concussion was fine. GC had a player a few years ago injured like that. And i think it ended up a little worse than thought. We had one in the PV/Appy game to have the same thing happen. Hope every thing is good with both these kids.
